Elite patron Thomas Andrews (aka “wiwf”) brought a remarkable little piece of news to me several weeks back. A friend of his, named Dennis Paul, runs a radio show at a station in Seattle. He was coming up on his last day at this station and asked Thomas (online) if he had any song requests. Thomas made his request and the two kept talking and apparently got on the topic of GoldenEye, and later, the-elite.net. Ultimately, our site received mention on the air, along the lines of:
“Thomas from Colorado, the Goldeneye Geek, wants you all to know to go to www.the-elite.net. There is an hyphen after the, so that you cats don’t get mixed up.”
Thomas added that he really has no idea what kind audience the broadcast had, but hell–not too bad!!
Another update of the GE records page? I must be some kind of masochist!
In seriousness, the GEWR page has been vivified(!) with the aid of Come (thank you!) The one advantage of waiting 8 months between updates is that there’s more to talk about. Case and point, a ton of awards have just been handed out, including Player of the Year 2004. You mustn’t waste another nanosecond!! Why are you reading this sentence??? Nanoseconds are really fast, you’re losing a bunch of ‘em!!! Rush on over there and read up; as usual, I did my best to epically recount all the “recent” happenings in the world of GoldenEye. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Well, if it isn’t the Elite. Fancy meeting you here. Say, what do you think the chances are of a community like you and a guy like me- …not good? Well, forget it then. On with the news.
Yet another fantastic month in the world of PD, with Boss pumping out a nutty 14 WRs, FB pulling off what has to be the biggest single-month Top Ten rise (from 9th to 3rd!), Trent leaping from 22nd into that same Top Ten himself, and much more… check the voting topic for all the info in detail. Speaking of Trent, he was the star of today’s new Rare Ranks update, making by far the best debut the page has ever seen (3rd in pt, 2nd in time!). FB did great there as well, advancing to the #4 spot in both ranks.
And let’s see, anything else… Oh, the first cross-promotional Elite/Kart Contest has just gotten underway, which I think is a step in the right direction, even if the competition in question is only another silly AIM thingy. Alright, that should wrap it up… except for the little thing about today being my 21st birthday, I suppose. Hopefully I’ll have a little birthday gift of my own to unveil pretty soon here, we’ll have to see how things work out. But enough about me! NGO!
