David Clemens has been going at Extraction pretty hard for awhile, and he’s managed to complete an untied sweep! There are only three levels currently swept in GE/PD, so fantastic job! You can watch the video here:
And see Dave’s commentary on the run here:
Everyone knows that Takahiro Arai is the current Perfect Dark champion, passing Ace somewhat recently. Taka hails from Japan, where they eat sushi, drink sake, and do other things ending in vowels. I had reported on two other Japanese players who recently joined the ranks; let’s see how they’re doing, shall we?
Whoa, CEDRIC! This guy has climbed from 21st to 12th in just a month and a half! CEDRIC is threatening to crack the top 10 and at this rate, could even pass his fellow sake-drinker for the #1 spot! CEDRIC most recently got Duel PA 0:09 and a very impressive Defection PA 1:23! We can only hope he continues to play and move up.
Chuya Takizawa has also managed to get into the top 20, currently sitting at 19th. Chuya’s accomplishments are admittedly overshadowed by CEDRIC’s times, but he’s also moved up nine spots in the ranks, and in the same amount of time! Maybe when CEDRIC passes Taka, Chuya will leapfrog him and we’ll have a Japanese top 3!
I had also mentioned AT Allianz in my last update, and this guy is still hard at work, moving up 16 spots to 76th. AT isn’t quite on the same level as his Japanese competitors yet (maybe try eating some sushi), but he’s doing very well nonetheless.
We’ve been following the great journey about how would it be possible to beat Cradle on the Dark LTK settings, discussing strats, testing new possibilities etc. And like if it was out of nowhere, Eddie Lovins completed the level in 1:47!!! Yeah you’ve read it right. 1:47! Props to Henrik Norgren who also completed the level in 1:45 a little later, without knowing about Eddie’s strat! How amazing is that! We really can’t do anything here but congratulate both players for their accomplishments, and also props to all the DLTK players who contributed to the strat! (read more about it here).
Now, leaving all the talk aside, watch these two videos above. One is the 1:47 completion from Eddie, and the other one is a 1:21 death where Trev blew himself up the fastest way possible! Unfortunaly there was a guard on the way SILO DARK LTK, HERE WE GO!
David Clemens lowered Rayan’s untied of 1:20 on Extraction Special Agent to 1:18!! Another amazing WR by Clemens. Watch his great run here:
Recently, a few members of the-elite turned me on to what can only be called “Puzzle Hunts.” These puzzles involve abstract, creative thinking in order to solve, every puzzle different with the solutions rarely clear! Some hunts the-elite has done:
All these hunts are produced from Australia, and we thought, “We should make an American one!” The idea was tossed around for awhile without much of a result, until Infil took some initiative and got things going!
The Elite Hunt was headed up by Infil, but puzzles were made by four other eliters (I even contributed one), as well as Neo helping to make the hunt website, which you can find here:
The official competition is over, but you can still register a screen name, team, and try to solve the puzzles! Read the FAQ and Rules if you need help, and feel free to ask any of us in the chatroom or on the forum if you just have no idea how to get started. If you want to comment, by all means, leave feedback wherever you like, ’cause we need tips for next year’s hunt! (right, Infil? )
Although it may have been the coldest week in Florida in many years, that didn’t stop the rest of us from having a great time as usual in the variety of games that we play! Check out the topic (with pics!) on the boards.
Adam Bozon officially beat Train Dark LTK with the time of 29:00. It’s now “official” because Rayan Isran once claimed that he beat Train DLTK a couple of years ago, but he didn’t provide proof for it. So, congrats Bozon! Only two levels to go now (Cradle and Silo)!
Its been nearly 10 years since we first set our eyes on Joanna Dark, and now 10 years on she is set to spring onto Xbox Live Arcade. Now we all know that Perfect Dark Zero was ok, but nothing special and in comparison against its predecessor quite frankly sucked, so when Rare announced that the original Perfect Dark was to arrive things started to look up.
Rare have already stated that the port will include updated visuals, but keep almost all of the original content that made it what it was. In addition, we have online multiplayer over Xbox Live and i am pretty sure they would be adding leaderboards for levels. So what does that mean for the elite.net?
Well first of all it could quite potentially bring more users to this site and increase competition should these new users still have the original. Personally for me it will be interesting to see whether or not the Defection glitch is still possible, or even the Deep Sea glitch for that matter. I don’t expect that the times achieved by the many great gamers on this site can be achieved through an Xbox 360 but it will be interesting to see what can be achieved.
The game is set to be released in Q1 2010, since as of yet they have yet to release an actual date but i am certainly looking forward to it.
We took an interview with David Clemens, the #1 player at Goldeneye and the player with most World Records on Perfect Dark. Check it out! He talks about his life, his relation to the-elite, and his opinion on some records, players and much more!

For those of you living under rocks or those who genuinely don’t check General Chat (Cat) very much, a few of the Virginia-regulars are leaving their cold climates in the dead of winter to spend a few days in Orlando Florida; this meet is hosted by Adam Matis.
The attendees will be Derek Clark, Sterling Neblett, Josh Lay, Jim Barrett, Adam Matis, Greg Woll, Eddie Lovins, Trent Hovis, Brent Wingert, and a female friend of Derek Clark’s. Expect an epic montage to be made after this meet, with both video games and wheat missing an easy 4-foot putt!
