01/18/2005: "New Elite Proof Policy"
I promised a major upcoming announcement back on Xmas Eve, and now it's time to deliver. The big news I was hinting at is a new Proof Policy, going into effect Elitewide as of today. Youse, Clark, and myself held a large Conference last night in order to talk everything over, and what follows is a brief outline of the new ground rules. (For the complete explanation, as well as discussion of these changes, take a look at the full New Policy topic on the PD board.)
- No matter what a player has done in the past, their Proven Times will still be listed in the rankings.
- Sucram's 1:23 stays up, as do all other times by our long-inactive vets (it's time to move forward).
- No future untied WRs will be allowed without video proof.
And finally the big one,
- As of February 1st, 2005, all times submitted to the Elite will be considered the joint property of the-elite.net and the individual responsible for said times.
Which means that if, for any reason, you would like either your PD or GE times withdrawn from the world rankings, contact a t-e.n staff member before Feb 1st. Again, for a full explanation of why we thought any of these changes were necessary, check the topic. You can also feel free to post any questions there if you're still confused about something.
In non-proof news, let me just quickly congratulate Bryan Bosshardt for not only winning last month's POM, but also becoming the first man in history to crack the once-impossible 3:00:00 Rare Time mark! Keep at it Bossy. And with that, we are officially suffering through an Ngamer outage.
