05/26/2008: "Some things did actually happen"

I have decided to wait a little more before making this news entry, because Perfect Dark hasn’t seen too much activity. More players, like Rayan, have moved to Goldeneye lately which has obviously contributed to a slowing down of activity here. So people, if you feel the need, pick up your controller and get a few PD PRs here and there!

Last news entry I said that talking about my own PRs and WRs is evil in my eyes, but I guess there’s no other way now. Anyway, Deep Sea has been my target for a while now, and quickly after getting 2:59 on SA, PA was next. When the video of 3:10 was posted in the WR thread there were a lot of people who were impressed, giving reactions like:

'Prolly one of the most impressive runs i've seen in a long time...' - Henrik
Moreover, got a few more other WRs, and untied Escape PA once again!

So what else has been going on in PD? The great Ryan White even made a huge comeback with some very impressive times, like Air Base A 1:17 and SA 1:49. It is being said Illu is terrified by Ryan and is monitoring him closely to be sure he doesn’t pass him.
Then we always have loyal Otto, who managed to get some good PRs, like Defection SA 0:38 and Investigation PA 2:42. Keep it up Otto.

Interesting enough Perfect Dark now has its own TAS (Tool Assisted) speedrun topic, run by Henrik. He is planning to TAS every Perfect Agent level, and the runs so far have been really impressive. If you have any crazy idea about some strat, feel free to post in this topic to help Henrik out.

When thinking about it, it’s actually not too bad. Since last post (which was end of March) there has been 7 seconds cut off the total time, which is in fact quite decent for this period of time.
