Early Bugs

Okay, I’ve got an isolated report of a really buggy display on FireFox. The page should look like this.

Edit: Comment Page format problem fixed.

I’ll keep trying to figure out why it does that for me… might just be something weird with the FF build I’m using. I’ll reinstall 1.0PR later, or upgrade.. if that doesnt work I’ll try in 0.8. Still weird as fuck how it displays, since the source shows everything being there.

Alright. It seems to be a problem with 1.0PR on my end. Everything displays as it should in 0.8, but not in 1.0PR no matter what I do. November 9th is the release date for 1.0, so hopefully it will work in that. I’ll keep you up to date on that, just glad to have it all working now. :)

By the way Derek. The home page at least isn’t completely valid. I ran it through the W3C Validator (which is what your doctype has) and it came up with 22 errors. I ran through them and most of them can be fixed really easily.

Anyway, my site isn’t valid either, but I want to work on that.

I really like the new look, but I don’t know. The green hover on the links just doesn’t seem to fit.

  • Derek

Don’t hate on my color schemes, biatch. Such opinion aren’t entirely welcome because they are purely matters of aesthetic preference.

The 22 errors thing…that is something, however, to be addressed.

  • Beau

True about the colour. I hate it when people just give me ‘Naw, it suxorz’ instead of telling me why it does.

    So I will do that.

The green doesn’t fit with the rest of the page, as well as on the left bar (and right) it kindof boggles your eyes when it gets too far to the right (In the silver area)

It just doesn’t fit with the site! But, I don’t matter!

  • Derek

Fair enough; thanks for explaining your thoughts. It was a random break from the color scheme, but for some reason I liked it.

I’m not that worried about how readable the font is after you hover it. I even considered using black for hover. Why? BECAUSE I’M AN ARTIST, DUN JUDGE ME!!2

Down to 6 errors, 2 from Greymatter itself that Derek said he’d fix. Other 4 are sorta weird things that my feeble brain can’t understand. Oh well.

PS. I LIKE THE GREEN. it’s sexah

  • Beau

I know what you mean about the break, but I don’t know. I like things that fit with the rest of the site. And there isn’t any green except for the ‘hat’ on the ‘cool guy’ and the ‘N’ Logo.

Anyways, I was trying several different colours to see if I could come up with anything that would work. (I tried black too) But I couldn’t find anything. I was thinking towards an orangeish-red, but I couldn’t find the right one. :plain:

  • Derek

The old color was #ffeecc, a light yellow.

    And thanks, Come.

  • bcks

go with lime green, derek, try that out. ;)

  • Derek

    lime green? gross.
