More TS2 Records (Monday, January 25th)
Silent Thunder on 01.25.10 @ 12:29 PM CST [link]
There's been some major records achieved on TS2 over the last few days, most of them coming courtesy of MegaDestructor9.

First, we have a new record on Fight Off the Living Dead. MegaDestructor endured 14 hours of playing to become the first over the 4 million mark, beating Matthijs Triep's 3.8 million run. His final score was 4,083,539.

A few days later, MegaDestructor achieved another very difficult record by getting 47.2 on Chastity Chased, beating Remlosh by only a tenth of a second. The luck needed with spawns for such a score is insane, and MegaDestructor got it on his first try of the day. Mega also got 16.0 on NeoTokyo.

It's not all MegaDestructor this update, however. Matthijs Triep has been playing more Killer Queen, resulting in a full second taken off of the previous record, which was also held by Matthijs. His new time is 37.3. Nice work by Matthijs.

Another Mega Update (Sunday, January 17th)
Silent Thunder on 01.17.10 @ 05:59 PM CST [link]
Back in September, MegaDestructor9 was added to the TSFP rankings with some very good world records. I'm pleased to announce that MegaDestructor9 has now been added to the Timesplitters 2 rankings with a new untied world records and three other very good times.

MegaDestructor9 took down my own Monkey Business record with a 40.2 run. That run is the first to use the same route as Gone Bananas, and is a very solid run all around. Very impressive given how annoying this stage can be.

He also did a 39.8 on Gone Bananas, which is the second best time ever and also makes him the third person to break the 40 second barrier.

MegaDestructor9 also got 2,627,362 on FotLD, giving him a 97 point time on the rankings. He said it took about 8 hours total. Kudos to him for enduring that stage.

Finally, he got 13.4 on Trouble at the Docks. The run was pretty solid, but he seemed doubtful about getting 13.3, although I think it's within his reach.

Congrats to MegaDestructor9!

Another Badass World Record Update (Thursday, December 31st)
Silent Thunder on 12.31.09 @ 12:55 PM CST [link]
Matthijs Triep has done it again. Apparently, 38.5 on Badass Buspass Impasse didn't live up to his expectations of a good world record, so he lowered it even further. He made another 0.2 cut and the new record now stands at an astounding 38.3. Matthijs expects that it would take a great effort to lower it further, which seems an understatement to me, since I still think it takes a great effort just to get under 39.0.

38.3 is definitely one of the best records on the rankings(as if 38.5 wasn't already), so an awesome job by Matthijs!

Triep also got an 8.3 on Playing With Fire, which pulls him ahead of Fitzy for 2nd place on the TS2 Challenge Ranks.

Records Destroyed (Thursday, September 24th)
Silent Thunder on 09.24.09 @ 03:15 PM CST [link]
This is an announcement I've been wanting to make for a while now. MegaDestructor9 is perhaps better known for his Mega Man runs over at Speed Demos Archive, but during the time that NGC-Elites was down he briefly turned his attention to TSFP. The results are pretty damn amazing.

MegaDestructor9 joins the TSFP elite with 6 new world records. The first three are.3 the cat racing challenges. MegaDestructor is the first player to break 1:00 on The Cat's Out of the Bag, with a 59.9. He cut an amazing 4.7 seconds off of the Lap It Up record to get a 1:21.8, and he cut 5 seconds off of the Cat's Pajamas records to end up with 1:32.4.

He then attacked the glass smash challenges and came up with world records for all three stages. There's 38.6 on Don't Lose Your Bottle, breaking the previous record of 40.0. He's the first under 1:10 on Avec Le Brique, cutting two full seconds from the previous record to get 1:08.8. Finally he pulled off an astounding 50.3 on Absolutely Potty, which is prehaps the best TSFP challenge record on the site.

MegaDestructor9 has videos of all of these runs on his youtube channel. If you haven't seen them, go watch them right now.

Badass World Record Update (Tuesday, September 15th)
Silent Thunder on 09.15.09 @ 12:40 AM CST [link]
This time around I do NOT have news to report from TS1. Instead I am happy to announce an awesome TS2 untied record from Matthijs Triep. Matthijs decided that his 38.7 on Badass Buspass Impasse wasn't insane enough, so he went and found a few more boosts to arrive at an increadible 38.5. I watched the video and he makes it look easy.

With this new time, Matthijs moves within 1 point of second place on the TS2 challenge rankings, trailing Fitzy 1972 points to 1973.

Congrats to Matthijs on his new untied record!
